Our BVI Wedding Planning Philosophy

If you’re thinking about getting married in the British Virgin Islands, we can assist you in several areas, or the bare minimum to get the job done!

Over the years, we’ve spent countless hours helping clients craft their perfect island wedding events. There are a few wedding services we get asked about most, which we have several reputable, and reasonable connections.

However, this is your day, it’s up to us to be open and flexible in order to deliver your perfect day.

We appear when you need us, and vanish when you don’t.

Services

Photography and Video

The BVI has a number of reputable wedding photographers and videographers both in Tortola and Virgin Gorda.

The costs for wedding photo and video services can range by artist venue and special requests. Whether you want a cinematic aerial masterpiece, a serene beach portrait package, or a submerged underwater, love odyssey, we can help you find the perfect photographer for the event.

All of the photographers we work with are trade-licensed professionals in the British Virgin Islands.

Wedding Florals & Bouquets

We can order just about anything you want in terms of flowers for the ceremony and reception, but some flowers travel better than others. We are the 3rd stop once flowers get here so we have to be careful that we get the heartiest flowers. Some that are great to work with and travel well are orchids, Gerber daisies (come in very vibrant bright colors), lilies, hydrangeas, and roses. Sending pictures helps tremendously as does provide a color scheme. Please contact us or submit an inquiry to learn more or get started on ordering flowers for your special day!

Catering

Catering services are available and can be arranged through BVI Weddings for the day of your wedding. Whether you chose a formal sit dinner or a casual buffet there are a number of great chefs who can make it happen! There are also some great restaurants where you can have dinner/reception. Contact us to inquire more about types of catering services, or to start your planning!

Wedding Cake

We can order whatever you wish if and you want something a bit more “islandy” my baker does an amazing carrot, coconut/rum or lemon cake. He also does delicious traditional vanilla or chocolate. As with flowers, pictures help a lot to give as an idea of what you have in mind. We can replicate almost anything, however, I tend to have cakes frosted fairly plain so I can decorate with fresh flowers and greenery to match the theme of your wedding.

Ceremony Arch

We can get an arch for your special day and are happy to decorate it with fresh flowers and tropical greens.

Decorations

After 25 years I have acquired many different hurricane lamps, votive candle holders, string lights and decorating items that can be used to make your reception area gorgeous. For a small fee you can rent anything you like and use my decorating services.

Legal Marriage Process

If you’re wondering what the legal process of getting married in the British Virgin Islands is, look no further.

You will need to be in the territory for two working days and will need your passport and any original divorce or death decrees to apply for your marriage license. Should you not have an original, a certified copy will suffice as long as it has a raised seal and/or signature. They will not accept a photocopy. If you are from a foreign country and your divorce decree is in another language, you will be required to have it translated.

The application process less than an hour and Heather will be with you to walk you through it and act as a witness if necessary. From there you’re back in the sun and you won’t need to go back to any Government office as the marriage officer will bring everything with them on the day of the ceremony.

We are here to help you source venues ranging from beaches, boats, hotels, restaurants, and private villas throughout the BVI. We love to be creative with your dream location and will do everything in our power to make it the perfect place to say “I do!”
